Priority-Recruiting Emergency!!- Empty
PostSubject: Priority-Recruiting Emergency!!-   Priority-Recruiting Emergency!!- EmptyWed Jan 18, 2012 6:36 am

Germ has in formed me(and i believe put up a post)that do to personal reasons, which we can all undertstand, that he won't be able to be an active member anymore. While i hope he changes our mind,i know we have lost Johnny K almost before he started due to errivicable(Due to income)problems with Don's computer, and i'm not sure, but i haven't seen Murgatroyd in quite3 sometime either. That means we are now a party of 3 gentlemen, and if we want to continue this,i'd say we need to get at least 3 or 4 new guys,at least to start with.Any level is fine(although mid to higher lvls would fair batter).Ex-PK'ers are a go,and welcome,as are all with a chackered past, accept for perhaps zerg listings. While alot of these folks we're put on the Resensitized list unjustly, having the stigma attached to accepting them may be rough. It has been in the past, and i'm sure our reputation, and recruiting ability,at least to a point, suffered.I'll leave that to the three of us in a vote,ok?

We've gotta tag, tag, tag, talk the sales pitch to everybody we can(as i believe our success rate last time was about 1 in 20),and finish the Wiki page.Papa,i believe you mentioned you could do that.Expect some flak from A-holes like Dr.Jackson.As a matter of fact, you might set it up minus the chat option, which is where he slammed us last time around. There will be those at Resensitized that, although we are essentially a different group all together now, with just the same name, will always want to cause trouble. It'll just be a fact of life for us.I did whip this up for the Wiki page Papa. You guys tell me whatya think-

Priority-Recruiting Emergency!!- Soldier3-1-3

Papa, these are the codes i believe you will need to post it-

HTML-<a href="https://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f288/ScottsGirl1313/?action=view&amp;current=soldier3-1-3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://2img.net/h/i49.photobucket.com/albums/f288/ScottsGirl1313/soldier3-1-3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Direct Link-

https://2img.net/h/i49.photobucket.com/albums/f288/ScottsGirl1313/soldier3-1-3.jpg

If you fellas want to continue this group as a whole,we need to do some damage control on the spot.It was hard enough making any kind of a significant impact with only 4 experienced players. It'll be harder now with only 3.If you feel it's not worth pursuing, just be honest with me,and i'll understand.I leave it to you my friends. My vote for now,is to divert all our efforts to grab a few new guys, then get back to business. To try and keep going,as it is.I hope that's what you'll want too.

Your Pal,
Rev.Ed(Scott)

PostScript-I can easily do more recruiting graphics for the Wiki as as needed.Just say the word!!

I think that we should keep going and try to recruit more people. Maybe even move to a certain area and make a temp base where we recruit for a while.

That's a killer wiki pic, Ed. I'll put it up.

I'm all for continuing, but I do think that we need to rethink our mission. With 3 guys we just aren't going to have the manpower to take a mall or a fort alone. Here's a couple ideas, let me know what you all think:

A) I think we all agree that we need to spend more AP recruiting. Having some experience running a group, I can tell you that it's an uphill climb and we need a better plan than spamming recruitment ads (though I'll work on getting one up on the recruitment page). Read this if you haven't: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Guides:Guide_to_Forming_Groups

B) We could continue to target zeds and malls and ally with local groups. I think that'd be fairly welcome and we could stay mobile.

C) We could pick a home (for a while at least) and try to attract some recruits.

D) We could take on a major zed player (I'm thinking RRF or the MoB) and get a reputation that way.

E) We could shift focus to smaller targets (NTs, probably) and stay small and mobile

F) We could shift strategies and targets and become bounty hunters.

In any event we need to rethink things a bit and tailor our message to that. What do you guys think?

Priority-Recruiting Emergency!!- Empty
PostSubject: Re: Priority-Recruiting Emergency!!-   Priority-Recruiting Emergency!!- EmptyThu Jan 19, 2012 4:17 am

Ok,2 things-

#1-I already operate 2 highly successful roving bounty hunters, generally 1 in the south and 1 in the north,as well as a sort of stationary bounty hunter, who polices the territory of the pro-zed group he's attached to in the NE corner of the city. While i like the idea of a bounty group, and it would work well with still recruiting reformed PK'ers who already have great experience in this field, and the Reverend, through revenge kills, and defending the pro-survivor groups he has worked for,has already tallied 31 kills, and led an anti-PK squad for the Knights Templar at one point,it might get a bit hairy for me having so many roving hunters at once. It'd be tricky at best,to be sure, and i might havta bow out of some missions/hunts due to zerg restrictions.
If this is what you guys want though.i'll certainly give her a shot.

#2-If we picked an area to attach to,we might offer anti-zed and anti-PK services to the allies we make in the area.I think a likely spot would be the Kempsterbank/East Grayside/West Grayside/Wray Hieghts area.Wray Hieghts was once a "colony" experiment of the Templars which they we're never able to completely control, due to lack of manpower mostly. One of my alts was the commander of the "Wray Heights Expendiary Forces",atached from the Templars,at one point. That could be our base of opperations, with Woodroffe Mall as our main supply point, but Hildebrand,Nichols, and Pole Malls are nearby as back-ups.I truly believe the Templars would enjoy the help. The other 'burbs i mentioned would be the ones most significant to controlling the area.Patroling them periodically for PK'ers and zeds would be highly adviised, especially the area s?SW of Pole Mall, with it's abundance of Banks/cinemas/and Clubs,as well as the more crafty PK'ers using the outlying areas in East Grayside and a few spots in eastern West Grayside as safehouses/bases.We would find Wray to be ripe with zed activity from time to time, being in such close proximity to both Whittenside(strong area of the feral Undead),and more likely Stanbury Village, the satalite 'burb off the imfamous Ridleybank Resistance Front.NE K-bank also has a long standing small, but pesky group of zeds called the St.Ferriols Noise Abaitment Society, who for years have never seemes to give up and constantly ruined bldgs in that corner of K-bank.
We might also find we'd havr to venture into Shackleville on occasion to break-up independent PK'ers or PK'er nests in the cenral and western areas of that 'burb.
It'd be quite an undertaking, but the area truly has no,and is in need of,some real direction.I could't speak of our recruitng chances there these days without a scouting mission, but i can say the Templars are a fare sized group nearing 40 members most of the time, and they'd be a great ally to have.I still have strong connections and friends left there,so allyship would be a breeze. There are 2 PD's,3 NT's and 3 hospitals inthe 'burb as well,as a selling point.

Whata you guys think?I think one of these two options would be the best, and even though a wrote more on the latter, honestly,i'd go for either one,so Papa,Joe-Lemme know whatya think,or in the case of the latter option,if you had a different or better area to base in mind.I'm open to all ideas. You guys know that.

"Til then,
Rev.Ed

I'd go for C/#2. I believe that we need to stay in an area so that locals notice us and that area should have a low level of active survivor groups since while we're this small we won't be able to compete with any major groups.

As for the recruiting tactic, I say try and tag as much as possible in our "homesuburb", get the wiki running as good as possible and also talk to people in-game where we point out what they do good and tell them we want them to join us. Even though the wiki and tags are powerfull recruitment tools I still think that the personal contact were you say "wow, good job! we could use someone like you!" is the best way to go.

KT would be great allies too and it would allow us to jump in and be part of bigger stuff too, but I'd still say keep an arms lenght to them so that we're not too close to each other... If we are then there's no way we'll grab new members.

I think that Option 2 sounds best. Let's roll with it! I'll have a chance to work more on the wiki this weekend, which may help with recruiting.

Got that scouting done. The whole of Wray seems to be fairly populated and ina good way, with all hospitals,PD's,and NT's up and running, with the vast majority of them lit.The one bldg i saw done,Lewyes Auto in the NE,i repaired and recaded myself. It looks good to set up shop without any immediate opposition.Of course, for action, and possibly a thicker human population for a better chance of recruiting,i'd suggest Woodroffe Mall, just 7 blocks north of the northern Wray border. It's proximity to Stanbury Village(to the NW)might leave it with some zed activity(unknown,as of yet),and while it's not as popular for PK'ers as some of the malls to the north, like Dowdey or Stickling, they can roll through sometimes. This was(and still might be)the favorite area of the infamous criminal Blair Wells, former leader of the now defunct PK group The Browncoats,if he's still active(haven't seen him in about a month).I imagine we'll be using Woodroffe for supplies anyway,so we might as well know the area well.
Soooo...So far,so good!!Come on down and check it out fellas, and let's see what we can do about building some membership and havin' some fun!!
I haven't been able to catch my friend over at the
Templars yet,but no problem there.I can just wander over and say hello in person later today,if need be.
I'll be in the Beagly Bank along the northern Wray border restin' up for awhile if any of you want to stop by.See ya then!!
